note to the public after completion of archive addition: ok, i'm going to leave this test post up to remind you all how evil blogger is. this is actually the short version of while i was testing out archives and stuff. you don't want to see the long version. essentially, every sentence i tacked onto this post is pretty much a test (comments used reflect how i felt after testing the previous time). so yeah…things look ok. :D archive is up and running…even though you have to stop at an intermediate page before accessing them, which i think sucks. but it's the only way i could get it to work. -_-; anyway, i have a math tutorial to go to…and i'm hungry. :P *goes*

ok, i'm back blogging. let's see…*reviews notes to self* ah yes…japanese presentation and things i'm expecting in the mail. okie dokie…

a few weeks back a japanese english professor from hokkaido, japan (i'm guessing she's from the sapporo area) came to the university of lethbridge (my school in case you haven't figured that out yet :P) and made a presentation on japanese college and university students studying english. the presentation was about a specific research study that they performed using the students in an international program that they were involved with where students that are learning english from all over the world send email messages back and forth to one another like a penpal sort of thing (a.k.a. keypal). it was very interesting…they tested different groups based on the academic institutions and their reliace on dictionaries, transliterations, and emphasis on plagiarism. it was really interesting…and there was a lot of funny examples of the students' errors. :D but anyway…it was interesting to say the least. interesting enough to make it into my blog. :D

i am expecting lots of stuff in the mail. i don't think i have expected this much stuff in the mail in a long time. *_* i am expecting a cool lighter that beth ann (marsie) got for me, 2 seramyu tapes, fushigi yuugi episodes (yay i can finally finish watching it now! *_*), a new ATM card (they're taking their sweet time sending me a new one O_o), non-spiffy cheques that i ordered, and something else that escapes my mind right now. but anyway, lots of stuff. *_*!!! fun fun fun.

[*edits 1 month later* the thing that escaped my mind was a CD that minako is supposed to send to me with aaaall the musical songs to date. *_* (data cd, of course...you can't fit 200+ songs on a regular CD @_@!!!).]

yesterday was hikari ono's birthday! x_x; i forgot to mention it…i am going to wish her a happy birthday on her message board today…once i figure out how to not sound like an idiot in japanese. @_@;

i updated this site to version 2.1 today. i changed the "me" section extensively. new dorky picture of me in there. x_x; it's way more recent than the 2-year-old one i had up. i updated a couple other pages, too…and i still have to update the "friends" section. that needs updating quite a lot. i need to add some people, and…*ahem* take a few people down. :x and change people's descriptions really bad. x_x noin and i want to make a group blog, too. *_* that'll be fun. more news about that later. i need to figure out how to work the archives on this thing, too. -_-; *kicks blogger* why do you have to be so complicated? >:O

whoops…i posted some thoughts on suicide in my blog just so i could use them later (i was rushing). i forgot to delete them afterwards. @_@;;; who knows how many people read it (at least one…which shocks even me!) and thought that i was suicidal? x_x; but hey, if you ever want to get in touch with your friends that you haven't talked to in a while, post suicidal things in your blog. :D *waves to simon*

kristin got her birthday present alright. i was hoping that canada post would actually get it to her in tact unlike their usual "let's-shred-the-package-because-we-can"-type of delivery that i've experienced with them in the past. -_-;;; but anyway, kristin is going to have fun at a U2 concert sending the shirt i sent her. weeeeeee, that's special. :D

yeah, what else? i registered for courses today. i got into everything i wanted except the music composition (using computers) course that i had planned on taking as a night course. -_-; <sarcasm> sooo, i'm forced to take this WONDERFUL music course that teaches everyone what a quarter note is, and what a treble clef is, and all sorts of stuff that i'm just dying to know because i don't already!!! </sarcasm> -_-;;;;;;;;

i just got back from seeing Monsters, Inc. (with burg). i am now more sure than ever that i want to be a cgi animator more than a computer scientest (*gags secretly*). weeeee, changing my major…which i will talk about later (perhaps in an update to the "me" section *raises eyebrow*). "kitty!!!" :D so cute…so cute…

in other news, it won't stop snowing and it's FREEZING outside…god bless ice and snow in a city with narrow roads. :)
