This layout was made totally by me, but I obviously didn't draw the picture. That'd probably be Yazawa Ai, creator of NANA. Featured in this layout is none other than Osaki Nana herself. The image can be found in the NANA 1st Illustrations art book. The layout was made in Adobe Photoshop 7.0. The font is just Impact, which came with my computer. :P And, of course, this blog is powered by the omnipotent WordPress. <3 It is strongly recommended that you view this page in the latest version of FireFox. I use PNG-24 format, so if the image transparency looks all messed up, it's your own fault. |

today i randomly bought a cake. no special reason. i just bought one. and i ate a piece. it's chocolate. with chocolate icing. and it's really good. and i also bought some microwave popcorn. isn't it ironic how our microwave broke today. and i knew this. i bought the popcorn anyway. i must suffer from short term memory loss. and it's really hard for b-flat instruments to play kurt nilsen songs. really, it is. it's, like, six or seven flats for so many of the songs. i can't handle that. i can handle four flats. i can also handle four sharps. no more, though. no more. seramyu songs are easy to play, though. mmhm, link is easier than you'd think, too. and i can play the inner senshi solos. zig zag slash is easiest. go me. learning songs is so fun. i bought candy today. i bought coke gummis. i bought wine gums. i bought that chocolate cake. i bought some ketchup chips. i have some pringles already. i bought some microwave popcorn that i won't be eating any time soon. i had dairy queen for supper. all of which, save the popcorn, i have eaten today (some only in part). i wonder why i have a stomach ache. lbeth just IMed me. someone pinch me…this can't be real. |

today was probably one of the worst days i've had at work in a long time. first thing i do in the morning: go into the freezer and get the stuff i need to bake that day. while coming out of the freezer i slammed the door (it's a huge door) on my right middle finger. and apparently the edge that hit my finger was sharp because it cut my finger. joy. -_-; and, just to make things worse, i got a papercut on the exact same finger an hour later. it's in one of the worst places, too. right above my palm on the joint part…yeah, i can't describe it. i hope you know what i mean. but, yeah, i hate getting cuts (especially paper cuts) on joints. >_< and then it finally hit my that i was having a bad day when i dropped two packages of donuts as well as the pan they happened to be on. yeah, that was loud, actually. but it gets worse. oh, the worst part is yet to come. lots of other stupid little things happened (including me brushing my elbow against the oven window which was so fun, let me tell you), but this one takes the cake. my garbage on my end of the department was getting pretty full, so i decide to take it to the trash shute in the back. i notice another garbage bag sitting on the other end tied up and sitting on the ground ready to be taken to the shute, as well. i put both bags of garbage on my little cart and head into the back. by the time i get to the shute i can smell something really awful. i'm only assuming it's some gross thing in the other garbage bag, since i have no idea what was in it (it was unusually heavy though). i lift it up to put it in the shute when i notice that there's a leak in the bag and there's some sick, gross, yellow liquid seeping out of the bag right onto the floor, onto the cart, and all over my clothes. and it stinks so bad. and the worst thing is i have no idea what it was. it smelled like some sick combonation of sour milk and rotten meat. so it got all over my clothes, and stuff, so i everywhere i went i (and everyone else within a three-meter radius) could smell it for the rest of the frickun day. it was so gross. at one point i just took a really wet cloth and soaked my pants and everything (it mostly went onto my pants). and then when that did nothing i put soap on the cloth and did it again. and when that did nothing i took sanitizer spray (which is supposed to be used for countertops) and sprayed my clothes very well all over (i don't know how safe that is, but oh well) until i was drenched in it. and it's not like i can go home and change clothes, because i'd have to take a shower and everything to get that stink to go away. and technically i only have a fifteen minute break when i work short shifts (i never really take the break anyway), and it'd take me that fifteen minutes to walk to my house and back. so whatever. -_-; so i bought myself a cake and a chocolate milkshake. don't make fun of me. so, yeah, fun day. ohh, let's talk about jubei-chan 2 again! *uses the more feature for once* |

i got my amazon order today. finally. i placed the order at the beginning of april. the screwtape letters is a much smaller book than i was expecting. i should be able to finish it relatively quickly when i get around to starting it. and i'm just glad i have oh my goddess! volume two. i tried watching the whopping two episodes on the $26 dvd, but i fell asleep in the middle of the first (actually, the fourth) episode. i ended up just watching the funny skuld ending theme again and playing my sax to stay awake. >_> of course, i watched a bit of j2 today, as well. guess what. i was wrong. otome is in it!!! and her followers!! they made, like, a five second appearance, but still!!! i, like, shat my pants when i saw her. i was so happy. ;_; and guess what. she's still after shiro. and by "after" i mean she's spying on him continuously while complaining about how she'll make him hers one of these days. speaking of shiro, it looks like he's turned into the main comic relief of the show (along with the unrefined, of course). i think shiro is crappily drawn about 95% of the time. it's great. >D and the scary paper man is back. he is so back. X_X more than ever. X_X and he talks. X_X in russian. X_X; oh, and the subtitling isn't so bad, actually. it's getting slowly better, i think. it's mainly just absolutely confusing grammar issues, unlike my ceres dvds which are beyond comprehension of any kind. i kind of like the new ending theme, too. nothing can replace "forever" but this one isn't bad at all. of course they kept the bike theme for the visuals. they added in a few new people for that, too. :D and, omg, jiyu blew the koinosuke whistle in one of the episodes i watched. *runs away without telling anyone what happened* line break time… i taped american idol last night. i have yet to watch it. i don't care about diana. i don't care about fantasia. i don't care about bobo. i don't care about randy, paula, or simon. and it'd be sad if i watched the show just to watch ryan seacrest. yeah. canadian idol starts next tuesday. thank goodness for that. -_- *amused that it simply replaces american idol* :D i'm not, however, looking forward to ben frickin' mulroney. -_-; i hate that guy. -_-;;; and, omg, i also just found out that my younger stepsister tried out for canadian idol, but didn't make it past the first audition. but she says she had a camera follow her around, or something, so she might be on tv. *_* omg, you know what that means? she could be the next william hung. except not butt ugly. and i found out what's wrong with my sax. i have a sticky pad (a really small one that's kind of hidden) that isn't lifting up on its own. and it needs to be in order to play c-sharp right. blah. -_- and i also just realized today that it's affecting my octave key. >:O i have to find a way to unstick sticky pads. blah. okay, i have stuff to do. for real. |

i have stuff!! Tue 25 May 2004 @ 6:25:17 pm Posted in: Blog |

i love how there's a holiday monday (where the postal system is dead) right when you're expecting to receive stuff in the mail. >:\ thank goodness today made up for it. i received my new silver soprano sax and my jubei-chan 2 dvds. :D each with its own pros and cons, however, i am still extremely happy i got them. finally. *_* for the sax, omg, it is so tiny. when i opened it i was all giddy and excited, of course. it comes with so much stuff, too. all the accessories you'd ever need for it, really. o_o everything from a little screwdriver to tighten up screw thingies on it (which i've never done, really o_o) to a cleaning cloth. and when i saw the mouthpiece and reed i just sat there and laughed. then i was like "awww, it's so small!!!" the reed is like the size of a clarinet reed (if not smaller @_@). as for the bad stuff, when i first tried playing it, it was much harder than i expected. in fact, about half of the notes i played sounded like i was learning the sax for the first time. little did i realize that i had to put the mouthpiece on as far as it could go. x_X see, on my tenor, to be in tune, i only put it, like, half way onto the headpiece cork. for my soprano, apparently, it needs to go all the way in. and even still it's very slightly off-tune, but not horribly. and not to mention that i couldn't even play the lower notes properly with the mouthpiece out that far. i don't know why that is, but i just couldn't play them. i felt like there was something wrong with the instrument. and for some reason it wasn't sounding in-tune at all when i played with music designed for b-flat clarinet (it sounded like an entire full-step or two off-tune), so i thought maybe this was a weird soprano (c soprano sax? *dies*). but then i got the bright idea to push down the mouthpiece and everything was fine. x_x; still, there's a few notes that are kind of off. the easiest note, c-sharp, totally sounds weird. it sounds like an off-tune c-natural. maybe the fingering is supposed to be different (and i don't mean the low c-sharp with the pinky finger key). i don't know. you'd think that'd be a universal fingering: pressing no keys at all. also, when playing the high d (not the one with the freaky-super-high-note-buttons on the top) it seems to sound a little off, as well. i'm only hoping this sounds weird because i haven't been playing much lately. or at all. i'm sure my tone's suffered very much. but to the point where some notes sound good and others don't? O_o but it's so fun, and i'm glad i have it. *_* i must practice tons. *_* my lips hurt like i've just been in band class. *_*; ah, memories. *_* as for jubei-chan. um, this is rather upsetting. i don't know if i mentioned on here if i ordered it or not. i saw the sequel on ebay all over the place, and i resisted for so long after the crazy ayashi no ceres experience from before. -_- the last thing i wanted was to have my second favourite anime ruined by super-crappy-non-fun-engrish subtitles. -_- so i saw it on some random anime dvd site which clearly looked like it sold bootlegs, but i've actually ordered from them before and it wasn't bad at all. the subtitling wasn't all confusing and crap. so i felt pretty safe. well, i watched the first two episodes of jubei-chan 2 this afternoon. my worst nightmare is now a reality. i now own a crappy bootlegged copy with hard-to-understand subtitles (probably done by some chinese person who doesn't speak english). it's not as bad as ceres, however, but that's not saying much. it's still pretty bad. the worst part about the crappy subtitles is that the characters' names are really messed up. they translate either the meaning of the characters' name (the kanji) or the chinese equivalent of how you'd pronounce the japanese kanji in chinese. but in this one, for some reason, the names they are coming up with don't even sound like chinese. o_o it looks like they just randomly went "klajsdfoiaueoijcag" and said "let's make that the translation of jubei!!" -_-;;;;; it's like that for every character except jiyu. for some reason they got that name right. O_O and felicia (felisha?) is translated pretty close, i think. somethings they put "forisa" or "felisa" which is close enough, i guess. -_-; okay, aside from that, this new series has some interesting differences. just some tiny spoilers that will make you want to buy these crappy dvds, i'm sure… there's another lovely eyepatch. for a different person. it's a blue spade. *dies* so that means two people claiming to be yagyu jubei ii. hajime is a punk. *dies* the poorly-drawn characters joke is back, i think. one of the villains is always drawn like that one annoying ninja guy in the first series. x_x speaking of the animation, it looks…different. in the action scenes it's better. O_O it's not any better (dare i say it's a tad worse?) for the normal non-action scenes. shockingly, they get lost in the infamous jungle/swamp place several times in the first episode. again. and i knew there was going to be a new student in their class before i ordered this; the scene which i was totally expecting would happen happened. that is… maro freaking out and making the new girl a member of the new student lovelies, of course. and, omg, sachi has a totally different look. totally different hair. i barely recognized her. O_O and that reminds me of how the voices changed for some people. x_x jiyu's voice sounds different, one of bantaro's followers sounds different (the little one). yeah, i think there's others, but those are the main ones i've noticed. let's see. there's an interesting thing going on with koinosuke. i won't spoil that though. actually, i think i spoiled it for kley already. or someone. i don't know. >:D mikage's back. i don't know what happened to her husband. shirahatamaruotomesama isn't back, however, and neither are her followers. maybe i'm wrong, but i think they would have made an appearance by now if they were going to be in it. and the best thing which happened so far: a kodomo no omocha reference!!! it wasn't even subtitled properly (or barely subtitled at all), but i totally got it. one of the main villains is a guy with sunglasses, and felicia tries to explain him to jiyu and she says he looks like "rei-kun" while turning into a super deformed sana-like character with the XD face. i feel so proud of myself for picking up on the reference, too, especially since it wasn't subtitled, like, at all. i think it said something like "it looked huangxu" or something equally dumb. -_- i really want to make a layout of the new yagyu jubei ii with the spade eyepatch. *_* but good luck finding j2 pictures on the internet. one can barely find j1 pictures. -_-;;; american idol today. yeah, whatever, i really don't care who wins. -_-; go fantasia. -_-;;; game one for the stanley cup today, too. go tampa bay. abc: anyone but calgary. -_-;;; i have stuff to do. |

okay, yeah, jasmine's gone. i was totally prepared for this weeks ago. and you just know she's not going to win when paula starts giving her bad comments. but look who's left. i am finding it hard to go on living, to be quite honest. this is absolutely crazy. i'm so dissatisfied with fantasia and diana being in the final two that i'm dying for la toya to come back. it's just that bad. i'd rather see la toya win it over these two. there was a while when i thought fantasia was okay. it was when she sang a bunch of slow songs for a few straight weeks. i thought that maybe she wasn't so bad after all. until she reminded us all that it's always an over-the-top gospel revival when she sings anything else. -_-; funny how the judges eat it up like candy. but diana absolutely drives me crazy and i've never liked her at any point in time, so i hope she loses so badly. if she wins i'm never having anything to do with american idol again. i'll just buy kelly clarkson's album and pretend diana, fantasia, and ruben never existed. things about tonight that shocked me: canadian idol starts on the first of june. i am so counting down the days. -_-;;; |

i'm rather upset over the fact that i ordered something on amazon on the fifth of april and it's still not here. it hasn't even shipped. -_- i even posted about it. amazon's telling me that the 31st of may is the latest estimated date of arrival. two months. that's a long time. when i ordered these i was expecting a turn-around time of, maybe, a month. it's been well over a month and it hasn't even been shipped. ugh, this bugs me. -_-; i guess i should finish reading the other books i'm still getting through before i read the screwtape letters, though. i should go to bed now. i have work in the morning. :( |

i haven't really been checking angryflower.com a whole lot lately. in fact, i probably haven't visited in a few months, at least. and it's not like i still live in a place where the strip is printed. so i've been catching up. and now i must share some with you. my guess is that 75% of the people who read this won't even click these, but do i care? schringer's fridge (lol!!! "INDETERMINATE!" and the double slit experiment!! we actually did that experiment in physics 30, too. without the women.) master magician (hehe…demons. :D) the bombs of love (hello subconcious commentary. you're funny.) iraqi prisoner torture photos part 2 (this is so bad it's worth mentioning. *dies*) ohh, people's court is on. |

of course i got called into work this morning. i knew it'd happen. oh well. more hours, more money. :D i have a feeling i'll get called into work tomorrow, which totally ruins my plans for tomorrow. x_x i'll have to figure out something…x_x we make new cookies at work now. i'm eating one now. strawberry white chocolate chip. *_*; i've been practicing my new music even though i have no instrument to play with. i pretend i have one, though, and i make sure i know the rhythms, and stuff. yeah. sight reading. and i put the cd on, and stuff, so that helps. some of the songs have some fun/challenging rhythms. *_* in the austin powers song there's a sixteenth note tied to a quarter note. you don't see that very often. >_> especially with tenor sax. you're lucky to see a sixteenth note in the first place (except in jazz, of course). -_-; at least that's how it was in our band. and in another song (i think one of the harry potter songs) there's dotten eighth/sixteenth combonations (and in 9/8 time, to boot), which sometimes, for no reason, throw me for a loop in the n/8 time signatures (6/8, 9/8, etc.). they throw me for an even bigger loop in swing music. X_x; what's really sad about this book is that i'm really loving the song in it that's from pearl harbor. x_X i hated that movie, but this song is actually really fun. it's so calm sounding, and it has sixteenth notes up the yin-yang (hehe, the reboot pok駑on spoof >:D). i think the hardest part of this entire book is going to be the accidentals. o_o there's so many. @_@ and to make it worse, they're really weird ones that i'm sure clarinet players think are great, but tenor sax players think are weird. x_X i think i saw a d-flats in there somewhere, which is just dumb. and then there's the g-sharps which i personally can't stand. x_x it's friggin a-flat!!! -_- i have yet to see an a-flat in this book. everything's g-sharp. x_x i'm going crazy. oh, crap, some relatives randomly showed up. i can hear them in the other room. my aunt and uncle. x_x my aunt is fine, but, omg, my uncle makes me so mad sometimes. okay, useless overly long storytime!! i'll probably just drone on and on about my uncle until they leave or i run out of stories. >_> here goes. (more…) |
