    This layout was made totally by me, but I obviously didn't draw the picture. That'd probably be Yazawa Ai, creator of NANA. Featured in this layout is none other than Osaki Nana herself. The image can be found in the NANA 1st Illustrations art book. The layout was made in Adobe Photoshop 7.0. The font is just Impact, which came with my computer. :P And, of course, this blog is powered by the omnipotent WordPress. <3 It is strongly recommended that you view this page in the latest version of FireFox. I use PNG-24 format, so if the image transparency looks all messed up, it's your own fault.

    Posted in: Blog, Don't Read This

    prime minister martin called the next federal election (finally). the 28th of june, this year. i'm excited to vote for the first time, but i'd be lying if i said i was completely confident in who i'm voting for. but who really can be? often you have to pick the lesser of the evils, but the political situation in canada right now is a bit weird. i'll try to be as brief as possible since i know no one really cares about this anyway. i took some quizzes, so if you want to skip this part, go ahead. just remember that i'll love you more if you read what i have to say. >:P even if it is long and boring. >:P

    if you don't know, canada's political parties are very diverse. it's something i really like. it's the number one reason i hate the whole american democrat/republican thing. you basically have no choice but to vote one or the other (and, let's face it, no one really cares about those little parties that never make it). okay, so the two main right-wing parties (alliance and progressive conservative) merged very recently. let me start off by saying that i have never been a supporter of the alliance party. ever. their reform party roots make me sick that i come from alberta sometimes. -_-; so let's just say the right is really pissing me off. the conservative party doesn't even have a freaking election platform, last time i checked. -_-;;;

    on an international political spectrum, i'd say that the old progressive conservative party was more liberal than most conservative parties around the globe. which is why the quiz i just took doesn't surprise me very much. the quiz was supposed to help people decide on who to vote for in the last federal election (i know, it's outdated…none of those prime minister candidates are even around anymore, even). my results:

    Joe Clark Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada (score = 100)
    Jean Chretien Prime Minister of Canada Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada (score = 63)
    Alexa McDonough Leader of the New Democratic Party (score = 29)
    Gilles Duceppe Leader of the Bloc Quebecois (score = 25)
    Stockwell Day Leader of the Official Opposition Leader of the Canada Reform Conservative Alliance Party (score = 13)

    shocker…alliance is last. shocker…the liberal party is second. i never did support the conservative merger in the first place. i was rather neutral to the pc party, and i was actually slightly impressed by joe clark in the last election. yes, he has no charisma (and no chin), but oh well. he's gone now. and so is that party. and i'm stuck with my arms thrown up in the air not knowing what to do.

    "why don't you just vote liberal already!?" there's the whole sponsorship scandal that i just can't ignore. x_X i suppose i'll just have to wait until the campaigns are underway to find out the liberal party's reaction to the voters who are upset over the scandal. and then there's the fact that i live in freaking southern alberta. we had a liberal sign in our yard for the last provincial election and got so many dirty looks. so why bother even voting for my liberal candidate when i know the conservative guy is so getting in.

    and then ndp. i'll never vote for them in my life. ever. they're pro-everything! X_x there's a lot of things they're for that i'm either neutral to or against, so forget them. my grandpa is probably going to vote for them, though, based completely on process of elimination. which is dumb.

    and then bloc quebecois. rofl!! i doubt that there'll be a candidate from the bloc in my area, to be quite honest.

    if i had to vote tomorrow, i'd vote liberal hesitantly and only hope for the best. so help me, though, if they piss me off during their campaign, i'm voting green party. if the pc party was still around, i would probably vote for them (while everyone around here would vote alliance -_-). i hate saying that i'd vote for a right-wing party, but this is federal politics here. there's no way in my life i would ever ever ever vote for any right-winged party in a provincial election. totally different scenario. -_-;

    blah, i can't even remember what riding i'm in. i'm pretty sure i'm not part of the lethbridge one (i think we're the cardston/taber/warner riding or something freaky like that). i kind of wish i was in lethbridge, though. the liberal candidate there used to be the leader of the liberal party of alberta. :( he might have a chance, but it's doubtful.

    okay, and now for some quizzes from people on livejournal. (more…)

    Posted in: American Idol, Blog

    maybe i should post something worthwhile. despite what you freaks say about the sims. :P

    first off, i have to get it out of my system: george was so happy when he got voted out. just like we all knew he would. i'm personally shocked jasmine is in the final four. i was prepared for her to leave today. i'm prepared for her to leave next week. i have to prepare myself mentally. i know it's going to happen, so i can't get my hopes up. i'd love it if she won, but it just isn't happening. since she's getting voted out, i really don't care who wins. it's like hockey and survivor and everything else i watch on tv. i don't care who wins survivor, as long as it's not amber or rob. i don't care who wins the stanley cup, as long as it's not calgary. i don't care who wins american idol, as long as it's not diana degarmo.

    canadian idol couldn't have arrived at a better time. any day now it's starting up and i'm so happy that american idol is almost over this season. -_-; just get it finished with already so i can move on. -_-;;;

    and then there's friends tomorrow. *_*;;; and omg, no!!! i am going to miss it!! and i just remembered my vcr doesn't tape that channel for some reason!!! AHHH!!! NOOOOO! bah, i'll get someone to tape it for me. :D i'm going bowling and stuff tomorrow. :D

    um, yeah, work is getting busy. @_@ i only have two days a week off. and it's so busy since they changed the baking stuff on us and i can't even finish my shift with the hours i've been given. i need six hours a day, not five. maybe i'll get used to it, i don't know.

    i rented a couple movies on monday that i have yet to find the time to watch. big fish and x2. i can't remember why i rented the second x-men movie. probably because i only saw it the one time in the theatre (and got pissed off at the ending, remember?). the last samurai is out now, isn't it? i should rent that. but i have to watch so much stuff. and i'm up to episode seven of i my me (which i'm loving), and i have yet to watch the omg! movie. fun.

    and burg is moving down here this weekend (hopefully) so that'll be fun. :D personally, i'm rather antsy about the tim horton's she's supposedly bringing me, but that's my donut-starved stomach talking. >:D

    i xpressposted my mom's mother's day present to her. nothing fancy, just a rather pricey gel candle. i know she likes those. it smells so pretty. ;_; i wanted to keep it. ;_;

    and there was something else i wanted to mention but i forgot. oh well, i need to go now anyway and make some phone calls. yes, at this hour. it's insane. oh, the drama. oh, the drama.
