let's talk about yesterday: burg and michelle and i went to lethbridge yesterday. we went to the mall and we went to the movies and we went to kfc and we had fun. we saw kill bill vol. 2 and the chronicles of riddick , both of which were pretty good. i like quentin tarantino, and there's just something about the kill bill movies i find interesting, but i can't really figure out what. and, without spoiling anything, i was laughing so hard for the scene involving elle (the eyepatch girl). it's not really that funny, but i found it absolutely hilarious. and then there was riddick. i went in with no expectations, first off. the story was interesting, at least, and the visuals were certainly…different. different in a good way. i loved the grey metal statue look. and the s.f. universe created in these movies is definitely a different one. i think everyone's just too used to star trek- and star wars-friendly universes. and of course this movie is going to come across as different. hello? it stars vin diesel and judi dench. and that canadian guy. but it was enjoyable, don't get me wrong.
