a word on comment spam: over. it's done. a thing of the past. (hopefully.) i installed a wordpress plugin and haven't received a single comment spam since. get it here. i really love wordpress plugins. they're so easy: just upload and activate. this one, however, was a bit tricky. not only did it stop comment spam, it stopped all comments completely from being posted. luckily there was a really easy workaround (that i will tell you more about upon request via email or IM).

i had a strange urge to go back into my archives. i guess i just wanted to see what my birthdays were like the past few years, because i really don't remember all that well. i don't document special occasions very well out of fear of being too narcissistic. nevertheless:

on the 27th of january, 2002, i blatantly announced—in a large, bold font—"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME" like the crazy, attention-getter i was. i don't need attention via blog anymore, so maybe that explains the difference. around the same time, scandia released an x scheme on grep which i really hated (and said so blatantly). i got myself a link list on grep for my birthday. yippee. also, i'm noticing how much i talk about what others are posting on their blogs. an entire post: "ROFLMAO! kley got quinn on the daria quiz…that is SO HER!!! *DIES LAUGHING* >DDD" o_o was this pre-comments? but even after we all had comments we still announced things like this flamboyantly. i.e.: "jbeth has a new layout. it's gorgeous! *_*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" which is a direct quote from a post on january 28th of the same year. also, it looks like i was just learning how to use "te" form (for verbs) in japanese. how amusing. i also was doing psychological tests for the psychology department (for extra credit), some involving subliminal messages (i was never the same after those). also, robyn and i started the infamous enpitsu-sama story. on the 31st we discovered the gummi bear orgy, which is where "VIVE LA PARTOUZE" came from. RSPRMﾂO! i was also blogging about three times per day. i don't know how everyone kept up.

on the 27th of january, 2003, i was a month into one of my busier semesters of school, and i was busy with school stuff most of the day. i didn't post quite so flamboyantly about how it was my birthday and omfg everyone needed to worship me now because that's the way i like it uh huh uh huh OR ELSE. no, i casually mentioned it. and in the post before. i bought valentines for everyone that never got sent out. i think they were sanrio ones. i think i ended up throwing them out, actually. *dies* i had an embarrassing experience with a girl in my multimedia class (who i hated at first, but turned out to be alright). i bought a pair of pants from randy river, guilt-free. i was in the heat of a really busy week with a lot of homework due in every class, including art. especially art. i had drama rehearsal, video projects, outrageous photoshop projects, and lots of obligations that i'm not looking forward to picking back up come next september. i can take it though. plans for the superbox video were in the works at this time. the commando professor was being mocked constantly. fun stuff. i'm also floored over the fact that i would apologize for not blogging if i didn't blog after three days or so. oh, how things have changed. well, not for lbeth.

on the 27th of january, 2004, i didn't even mention that it was my birthday (except for a few posts back), but people took a hint when i told them to comment and make an aging man, such as myself, feel better. i was living with my grandparents. i can already tell by the tone of the posts by how much of a mask i put on, and have been putting on for the last couple years. i quit mystic cards around that time. everyone (kley included!) was worried about me since my blog had been down (a whopping six days). oh, how the tables have turned. my mom and sister came down the previous weekend and we had fondue (both chocolate and oil fondue) for my party. i saw return of the king. i got the inside bjk documentary dvd for an amazing price ($12.99) at hmv (most likely due to a pricing error).

on the 27th of january, 2005, i got up at 1:30pm, washed myself, ate a huge piece of chocolate for breakfast/lunch (because i can do whatever i want on my birthday SO THERE), went on the computer for a few minutes, went to work, worked overtime until just past 8:00pm thanks to handful of customers from HELL (i refused to let that ruin my special day though), came home, had a roast beef dinner with my mom and sister, had chocolate cake and presents, talked to my grandma for a long while on the phone, logged onto aim to find no one there but jodi (and dg, but it might have been her brother), downloaded the new gigantic 75mb maplestory patch (thanks wizet for the birthday present: wonderful new features i can't wait to try out), watched anime while downloading the patch, and then i decided to blog. and here i am. i didn't blog about my birthday beforehand, nor did i mention it to anyone hardly at all. i don't know why, i guess i wanted to see what'd happen.

more on anime: i'm out of magical girl lyrical nanoha episodes to watch. :( the fansubbers have three more to still release, and i've watched everything they've done so far. i figured this would happen, so i downloaded a new series they're currently fansubbing right now called air. they've only got three episodes subbed right now, and i downloaded them all, but have only watched the first. wow, this might be another FLCL (which i still haven't finished). but this one isn't totally over the top, but judging from the first episode, it seems pretty random. so far i really love the main girl's mom. she gets drunk in the first episode! that says a lot. that says it all, in fact. she's such a riot! and her seiyuu is hisakawa aya. O_O shock. the main girl in this show has a familiar seiyuu as well. :D chiriko/utena! what's also amazing about this cast of seiyuu is that all three girls from oh my goddess are in it!! seriously, look it up. @_@ it's great. @_@ and ahhhh, i just noticed that the seiyuu for urd is also the seiyuu for yui in fushigi yuugi!!!! ahhh, i love when i make connections like that. why didn't i ever add myself to the seiyuu fans team on grep? x_x;;;;;; ohh, i just found out that the seiyuu for fushigi yuugi's tasuki did a voice in air. i haven't heard it yet, i don't think. o_o

okay, what i'm actually doing right now is rambling. i'm rambling without using the more feature. maplestory is undergoing a server check at the moment, and they're not expecting it to be back up for another 45 minutes. yes, i plan on playing this game at 3:45am. because. (*edits at 4:15* wow, it's still not back. forget this, i'm going to bed. i'll play tomorrow while the teenyboppers are at school.)

and, wow, they sure swear a lot on this season of the apprentice.

ummm, yeah, so i got bored and i started downloading some more anime, lol. someone told me about a show that has a ferret in it. @_@ no, not shamanic princess, because we all know there's a ferret in that, but a different show called magical girl lyrical nanoha. hehe, sounds really cheezy, eh? it kind of is, but i don't care. it actually reminds me of a lot of shows. o_o it's kind of a cross between sailor moon, card captor sakura, and magic knight rayearth, i think. and the animation is interesting. at first it looked pretty average, but there's one scene in the first episode where they used 3d really well, and i started having flashbacks to blood: the last vampire. @_@ they used the shaky-camera technique which looks really good in 2d animation, i think. >_> oh, the description on animenfo.com says that she meets a boy who changes into a small animal. well, that small animal is a ferret. *_* and this show is shaping up to be horribly monster-of-the-day-ish, complete with drawn out transformation sequences, and such. >D i love it. speaking of transformation sequences, the one in this show is rather revealing. @_@ just to show that she goes completely nude, she first loses her clothes, but not her underwear! then she loses her underwear… just so that we can see that she went nude. and she's not "glowing" or anything either. *dies repeatedly* X_X and there was a panty shot in the first episode (other than the transformation *dies*). makes me wonder what kind of audience this show would have received. @_@;;; she's in grade three, for crying out loud. ohohoh, and i noticed that nanoha's big brother's seiyuu is also FY's tamahome, SM's fiore, and utena's mikage. >D you know, that guy. but, honestly, what shows has that guy NOT been in??

so, yeah, i'll download a few more episodes tonight. it's not even done being subbed, so maybe i won't watch it all too fast. it's only thirteen episodes. @_@

and now i think i need to play maplestory, even though it's friday p.m. and all the kiddies will be playing through the night. -_- i hate playing this game on weekends, i swear. some guy offered to buy my panlid for a blue split piece, white split pants, and "some money". -_-;;; i laughed in his face and cancelled the trade. why do i even accept those anyway?

i'm happy that i just watched the first episode of american idol 4. it was hilarious, and i nearly peed myself laughing at most of those freaks. especially that last girl with the voices in her head. holy crap, she was great.

i'm happy that the amazing race is on now! in fact, the theme song is playing.

i'm happy that i have a ton of stuff that i've downloaded to watch and read.

i'm mad that i won't be able to start watching/reading them for another hour because i'm watching the amazing race.

i'm mad that i don't have the time to play maplestory with the others these days. my hours got extended a little bit for my days this week, and while that's all fine and dandy, i don't have time to do everything i want. :(

i'm mad that i have a panlid. every bloody person and their dog stops and asks me where i got it, what its def is, how much it's worth, and if i'll give it to them (or sell it to them for 8k). i hate them. i get one an hour it seems. -_-

i'm mad that jonathan and victoria are still in the game. i'm mad that hayden and aaron weren't eliminated. i'm mad that jon and kris are falling behind.

i'm happy that it's back on, and i'm shocked that they're all pronouncing "nice" correctly (you know, the place in france). okay, i have to press the publish button now. :)

my sleeping schedule's all buggered up now. i actually got up at 9:00am yesterday and spent the day at the mall (didn't buy much other than food and arcade tokens). but i was an idiot and stayed up till 5:00am last night. and slept in until 4:00pm today. *dies* so it's 3:00am now and i'm wide awake. and i just ate a pot of kraft dinner. yummay.

i love how kley's logging onto aim again. i could get used to this.

as a result i haven't been playing maplestory a whole lot. i played sims 2 today, but mostly because i've been frustrated with how either half or all the servers are down. and when they're up they're outrageously busy. and the abundance of botters are really starting to annoy me. especially trying to level up a low-level character. kind of hard when there's a dozen people at the bottom of the screen killing the easy monsters…and they're all using a bot that makes them go back and forth across the screen killing stuff mindlessly without the actual user being in control. -_-

but enough about that. let's talk about cosplay stuff! i'm getting pretty set on cosplaying as mikage from utena. soooo, yeah, mostly because the wig should be easy to find, unlike my other ideas. :D and there aren't an overabundance of mikage cosplayers. :D and it's not really a complicated outfit. so yay. kley's trying to convince me to cosplay as someone that i'm not mentioning (because it'll be a surprise if i go as this mystery person), but the costume is extremely complicated. @_@ so we'll see. if i get any ideas about how to do it, i just might. only a handful of people have even attempted this character, and i've got to say that most of them look pretty impressive. i'll ponder it some more. maybe i'll ask my mom to help. >D

the last seramyu show happened a day ago, or so. ;_; it may very well be the last seramyu show ever. marina graduated, that we know for sure (i'm downloading her dumb memorial album as i write this), but i really hope this is just a hiatus and that they'll start doing shows again. i wanted to see one really badly. ;_;

i hate these keyboards!! the backspace key is so tiny! and this spacebar has something seriously wrong with it. spacebars should feel flat on the top. this feels pointy or something. like the spacebar is shaped like a triangle. this is wrong.

i'm using internet explorer. *gasps* and wordpress is hideous again. this just in: mozilla firefox is the best thing since sliced bread! i slice bread for a living. believe me, i know.

someone did something really awful to the settings on this computer. the desktop theme is butt ugly. looks like all the computers have it. whoever made it is a freak.

today at the mall i bought the rest of the stuff to make everyone's presents. so now i can finally finish them (when i don't feel lazy) and send them out! i know, i'm amazing. some people i don't know what to get, so they're going to get a card only. haha, too bad for you. i'm just kidding. it's past christmas and i don't really care much if you get a card or a present. i'm so nice. >D

speaking of maplestory, killing evil eyes in the ant tunnel is not fun for archers. -_- i want a snowboard, and i need evil eye tails for a quest i keep putting off, but it's really a pain. i went through thirty-some white potions last night. -_-

i've come to the unfortunate conclusion that microsoft internet explorer and satan are one in the same. i say "unfortunate" because i was perfectly content using msie. flame me if you must, but i think people are getting too worked up these days about internet browsers, among many other things in this world. i didn't use msie for anything other than just looking at pages, so i didn't really care. it's not like i wanted anything fancy.

all that changed last night when it suddenly refused to load anything up. o_o i tried rebooting. nothing. i tried going onto my sister's profile on my computer. nothing. i tried removing spyware. nothing. i tried virus scanning. nothing. still doesn't load anything up. i just get a "page cannot be found" error or whatever. it still, as i write this, will not load anything up. other programs that accessed the internet worked fine. programs like maplestory, IM programs, ftp programs, etc. all worked fine.

so how am i writing this? ;) i got the mozilla firefox installer from silvermask. this really is a nice browser, i have to admit. looks like i'll be using it fulltime now too. not that i have a choice. i'm so glad that i have something to load internet pages up with though. -_- not to mention this browser is actually a lot niftier than i thought it would be. i was also half-expecting the majority of internet sites to load up mangled and deformed. i was under the impression that firefox wouldn't load up anything but anally strict xhtml, or something like that. i love how my blog loads up perfectly. *_*; and many other things. like wordpress. it does things it didn't do in msie. like all the forms load in the right place. @_@ and when you click in a form it changes colour! neato! ohh, when i press buttons in wordpress it looks like i'm actually pressing them! *_*;

i don't work tomorrow. west ed: here i come! i get to finally finish buying everyone's christmas presents and stuff. yay, maybe that'll eventually get sent out.
