This layout was made totally by me, but I obviously didn't draw the picture. That'd probably be Yazawa Ai, creator of NANA. Featured in this layout is none other than Osaki Nana herself. The image can be found in the NANA 1st Illustrations art book. The layout was made in Adobe Photoshop 7.0. The font is just Impact, which came with my computer. :P And, of course, this blog is powered by the omnipotent WordPress. <3 It is strongly recommended that you view this page in the latest version of FireFox. I use PNG-24 format, so if the image transparency looks all messed up, it's your own fault. |

i'm sorry if you thought i was getting mad at you, jbeth. ;_; i thought our little harry potter conversation was just… part of what we were talking about. i know you didn't IM me to talk to me about harry potter. :P even if you did, you can't do much to offend me. even if you blatently told me off… i'd be like, "oh, jbeth :D!" i've decided i'm going to preorder kodocha next week on monday, tuesday, or thursday. we'll see what i end up doing. i really should have done it sooner, but you should know by now that i always put things off. today was the last day in the week of crazy work schedules. :D today started off awful. i woke up to the sound of the phone ringing. which is shocking because i shut my door last night for some reason… and i don't often hear the phone ring when i'm sleeping with the door shut. anyway, when i woke up it was 9:00am. X_X i was half an hour late for work. so i got ready faster than ever (not answering the phone >_> i knew it was work calling <_<) and ran to work. i got there at 9:15. :D looked like crap, but i got there. they had just called in someone to come cover for me… because they thought i was a no-show. >D so that's good… she came and we had extra help for a while. :D and, boy, did we need it (it was busy today, even for a friday). i usually eat breakfast, so i got hungry really fast. :( the most breakfast i had was probably a bit of toothpaste i ended up swallowing after brushing my teeth quickly and vigorously. :( so i had a fun panini sandwich that i ate in like five minutes. @_@ sometimes i can't even finish those sandwiches, so that says something. unrelated: i need to buy two more deli sandwiches and i get the next one free one. :D yay. :D okay, i must talk about what i registered for. i can't see myself changing it, so i might as well say what my classes are. i was going to wait until i can pay for it to start getting my hopes up, but that'll be pending now for a while. i'm going to apply for a student loan, but i don't think i'll get it. see… my credit has gone down the crapper thanks to my last student loan. and when you apply for one, they do a credit check on you if you're over 22 or if you've applied for a student loan in the past. while the former doesn't apply to me, the latter does. :( so i probably won't pass that. but who knows what'll happen. i'll try. the worst that could happen is my credit score will go even lower because of yet another inquiry. :( so if i can't get that, i'll go see a financial advisor, or something, and see what other options i have. maybe even get some bursaries while i'm there. i deserve bursaries. :( oh, yeah, the schedule. ummm… okay, so this school is weird and i can register for fall and winter semesters. o_O i never heard of that. but anyway, here's what i'm in for the fall… EDFX 200 Profession of Teaching only four courses, but i really don't want to overdo my first semester back. being in four or more courses still makes me a full-time student. :P plus… the biology class has a lab, so that's like an extra half a class. but mostly this is to prevent burning out in the first semester. and i don't plan on quitting my job, so having less classes gives me a nice chance to establish some sort of balance between work and school. most of those classes were ones i didn't even want. i don't want to take that english class, but i have to. stupid english requirement. i read the class outline and it sounds exactly like liberal education back at university of lethbridge. -_- and, on top of that, it's a full year course. definitely having deja vu here. except it's not run by a crazed philosophy prof, thank goodness. maybe these english folks will be easier to deal with. maybe i won't need an awesome tutorial leader to save me from the philosophy department's antics. speaking of philosophy, i'm taking my first ever actual course in it. x_x i'm only taking it because it fulfills one of my requirements. i'm not a big fan of philosophy, but we'll see how it goes. they might make me a believer. or at the very least… a thinker. i'm rather choked up that i didn't get into the biology course i wanted to get into. see, there are two intro bio courses. one is for the study of cells and the other is for the study of organisms/environment/evolution. and i got the latter. :( i love studying cells, but not so much evolution. not that i find the theory false (i will say that i find it a bit flawed, however, and i heartily enjoy reading scientific articles against evolution >D), but i find it rather boring. one of the things i enjoy about biology is how it's very… how do i put this… lively? what i mean by that is… everyone has cells, for example. everyone has a body. i enjoy finding out how they work, even down to the chemical reactions within cells. while i enjoy being ignorant in a lot of things, being aware of how one's own body works intrigues me. just for the sake of knowing. it just feels more real to me than, say, history. or just about every other subject. i don't get to study cells right off the bat, so i get to study other stuff. which is fine… the course i'm taking now is required, but i didn't want it to be my first biology course that i took. also, the other class unlocks a lot more other classes… so i imagine that's why it's full. :( and i really, really, really wanted to take genetics ASAP (it's taught in the winter term), but you can't get in without that first course in cells. i enjoy genetics, but it can wait. :( speaking of the winter term, i mentioned i registered for that as well… and here's what i got… ANTH 230 Anthropology of Science, Technology & Environment i think i'll be really busy for that semester. >D i got into that bio course, though, finally. it has a lab, so yay for that. the zoology course also has a lab, so i'll be really, really busy. @_@ the zoology course is actually just some sort of science elective that i have to take… it's not on the required course list. @_@ soooo… if i had to drop one class, that'd be the one. i am registered for five courses, so… we'll see how that'll work out. of course… i won't be registered in that zoology course if i don't pass that bio course about organisms, or whatever. i'm confident i will, but ugh… how much of that crap do i want to take anyway? if it's all about darwin's precious trips to his precious islands… i'm sooooo dropping the course. anyway, the english course is the last half… it's full-year remember? -_- hehe, that music course is going to be interesting. it's the exact same course as music 1000 at the U of L. >D it'll be better now that the class size is really small, but i find it amusing that i took two higher-level music courses (the courses had no prereqs, i might add) at the U of L, but never got around to taking intro. i guess i got the chance now. :B anthro will be interesting though. @_@ i've never taken anthro. i've taken sociology… and i didn't do so hot. but at least i know what my weaknesses are, so i know what i need to work on when it comes to anthro. main thing: more reading. i applied this technique for psychology intro and it seemed to work somewhat. :D speaking of… they offer a billion sections of psych intro here. o_O too bad i have it already. i want to take advanced psych courses, but i don't think i'll be able to until i get to the U of A. that's when my credits are able to be transfered from the U of L, i think. okay, i think i went on enough about that. grant macewan college doesn't offer any japanese courses that i haven't already taken, sooooooo… i gotta wait till i get to the U of A before i work on my minor. :( i'm considering applying for U of A open studies so that i can start taking courses like this before i actually get to the U of A as an education major. but i wouldn't do that till next year. we'll see, my pretties. yeah, i definitely went on long enough about all this. i think i'm going to go make some mac and cheese. :D |

today i had a fun registration information session for school and all. i had to leave early from work to go to it. i thought it'd be the dumbest thing ever, but there was a lot of new information that i didn't know, so i was glad i went. i can see why they have these session things. i walked over to the mall downtown, ate supper while planning out some of my schedule, came home, and immediately planned out the fine details. i tried to group my classes together so i could maybe keep my job. i want to see if i can do it or not. i'm hoping i can. so i went to register and half the classes were full. -_-;;; which sucks because it took me about three hours to get my schedule perfect. so for the past two hours i made up a new one based on what was available. i don't know if it'll change or not, but i'll post my schedule when it becomes more finalized. it's really quite interesting. o_o i get to work tomorrow at 8:30am. yay. -_- i think it's bedtime. firefox just finished downloading the new update, so i guess that means i have to close this window now. and probably go to bed. :( i miss maplestory. |
