as a couple of you already know (minakosiskothatmeansyou) my internet is back. :D and my tv is back. and my phone is back. and not only is my phone back… but i can call anywhere in canada and the US at any time and we only pay one flat rate. :D so… you better speak up now if you don't want me to randomly call you. >;D before it's too late.

maplestory's fun, but i feel like it kills too much of my time. x_x my precious time. time i used to have a lot of, but now i'm like… "ahhh, i just spent three hours killing little pixelly monsters… and i could have studied for one of my two midterms or done one of my two assignments due this week!"

but that's what tomorrow's holiday is for. :)

thanksgiving dinner didn't happen tonight. i made kraft dinner. tomorrow my family comes back from their little trip to red deer, so we might have something then. in the mean time, i'm alone again… just like last year. but i didn't blog that last year, apparently. i checked. last year on this day i had already started my one month of blog silence. remember that? i'm still happy i did it, but my views on blogging have changed just a little bit since then.

for me (and i totally realize this probably only applies to me here), blogging is some sort of reflexive process rather than a reflective one. i'm only starting to notice this now that i have crap to blog about. i assume that this "content" is worthy to blog only because it's stuff that's actually happening in my life. which is drastically different from what i've been used to for the past three years: a whole lot of nothin'…

my life is a plain cheese pizza: a select few prefer it, it has a lot of stuff "missing" (what you see is what you get), and it's cheaper in both monetary and nutritional value.

eleven months ago i used to think this blog was here 100% for me. i said what i wanted because it's what i wanted to do, and whatever you thought was completely irrelevant. i've come to realize that it's probably 95% for me rather than 100%. the other 5% is obviously for you. i don't mean the random reader that finds this blog through google (lest we forget that crazy american idol spammer), but the actual people out there who i'm friends with. it's a means of communication, much like telephone or email. let's face it… if it was 100% for me the comments would be off. i value what my friends have to say, both on their blogs and on my comments.

i've tried reading these so-called "popular" blogs, but the bottom line is… i just don't care. if there's no connection between writer and reader, i just don't care. that's just me, and i can't help it.

you could say it's been a way of "life" for over four years now (oops, i forgot to mention my blogiversary in august). this blog is not always a news article, not always a whiny livejournal, not always a soapbox, and not always a link list. sometimes it's a little bit of those, but overall it's just my personal communication tool. nothing more, nothing less. it's convenient: i'd rather not CC a dozen people an email every other day.

as long as i know people are reading this thing, i don't see myself ever stopping. even if someday nobody reads my blog (god forbid) i'd probably blog privately, and that's the truth. reflexive, remember?

for those of you who were members of grep… how long has that site been down now? years? if someone like lbeth is still interested in someone like me after all these years (and she's only logged onto AIM a handful of times, for pete's sake), i'm not worrying about the future of this blog. and hopefully i will never break my awful, awful emoticon addiction!! >;9
