This layout was made totally by me, but I obviously didn't draw the picture. That'd probably be Yazawa Ai, creator of NANA. Featured in this layout is none other than Osaki Nana herself. The image can be found in the NANA 1st Illustrations art book. The layout was made in Adobe Photoshop 7.0. The font is just Impact, which came with my computer. :P And, of course, this blog is powered by the omnipotent WordPress. <3 It is strongly recommended that you view this page in the latest version of FireFox. I use PNG-24 format, so if the image transparency looks all messed up, it's your own fault.
    en masse haircutting

i've noticed a strange trend in haircuts. everyone's got one in the past week or two. i got one a couple weekends ago. at first it was very… beatles-like. :( now i can do a bit more with it. except when i have a bad hair day, it's totally beatles. i hate that. :( once it grows out an inch or two, it'll be fearsome. :D

i realized on wednesday that i had a music assignment due for monday. he gave it at the first class and hasn't said a word since. -_- i have to go to a professional "traditional western" music concert (i hate saying "classical" because jazz is included, among other things) and write a two-page review. simple, right? well, finding something to go to at the last minute was a real challenge. especially when i work thursday, friday, saturday, and sunday. :( the university orchestra, or whatever, had something happening on sunday, but i'd have to leave a couple hours early from work to see it. there is a jazz group from toronto playing at a shady jazz club tonight at 9:00. i can't convince anyone to go with me (too scared to attempt that one by myself, as much as i love jazz).

and then i found out that alberta ballet is doing a production of alice in wonderland with the edmonton symphony orchestra doing the music. and since alberta ballet and the ESO are both pre-approved as a-okay for this assignment, i'm all set. they'll be playing stuff from composers we're studying anyway (mostly ones that embrace chromatic harmony!! so fitting, no!? i can't wait).

so, yeah, that's at 8:00 tonight (wow, less than two hours? i should get ready). tickets were… not cheap. $50 a person. :( and we're almost in the nosebleed section. x_x cheapest tickets were at the very back on the highest balcony (literally the last few rows). i haven't been to that auditorium since they renovated, so i don't know what all is different, so i asked for the first few rows of that balcony (we got row B, centre! yeah!).

i bought a ticket for my mom, who took a good half an hour to convince to go with me. stupid expensive ballet. i go from starving student to fancy ballet attendee. look at me go. :D i feel so refined. >D i've never been to a ballet. i've been to symphonies, and stuff, but never a ballet. we're going to dress up all nice. :D

i guess this is my punishment for procrastinating, even though i genuinely forgot about this assignment. that was $100 that could have gone toward an ipod. :( but this assignment is worth 15% of my mark, so it's worth it. i really need an A in that class to boost my GPA.

… i just found a "best before" date sticker on my arm! X_X how long has that been there!?

tanya and karl are probably married by now. jealous person over here. i fully expect everyone to blog up a storm, ASAP, complete with visuals and pictures. :P AUTREMENT.
