i must apologize for not blogging, like, at all this month. really, i've been going through hell between school and work. trust me when i say that this is the short version.
i was an idiot and i stayed up really late cramming for my ecology final. it was supposed to happen last wednesday. oh so conveniently, i had that exam in the morning followed by my japanese one in the afternoon. i was stressing out pretty bad, and i stayed up way too late. of all days to do it, i ended up turning off my alarm in my sleep and i slept right through the exam. well, half of it. takes me an hour to get to school, so by the time i got there it was over. did well on the japanese one, at least.
i just got my marks back today. F in ecology. :( what i'm neglecting to mention is that i applied for a deferred exam (basically, permission to write it at a later date). i had to jump through many, many hoops to apply for it, including exaggerating my reason a little, but nothing horribly drastic. i won't go into details, but i even took a trip to the doctor. i applied for the deferral on thursday, the day after the final (had to apply within 48 hours of the exam), and i was supposed to get a phone call the next day. didn't happen. i was a little panicky, but not too bad. anyway, i got the call today, and it was accepted! :D i write the exam on wednesday (in a couple days! O_O).
which brings me to work. i don't want to get into the evil that is retail at christmas, but we're pretty short-handed right now, and i'm supposed to work nine straight days (today was day five of nine). looks like i'll have to tell them that i need wednesday off (hehe, seven of nine). for the sake of my future. because, uh, i can't get an F in this. that significantly brings down my GPA and i can kiss getting into the U of A goodbye. i've been working a lot of extremely early morning shifts (5:00am and earlier), including thursday through saturday last week. today was one of them too, and so is tomorrow. the next day was supposed to be as well, but i won't be working it, of course. this sucks, though, because studying while dead tired is hard. :( i've committed to going to bed early tonight, though. and the next day, for sure.
plans for christmas are going to the grandparents'. :D last month i requested the 23rd through the 27th off, so there's nothing my work can say. :D that was enough warning, i can't help it. they say retail is busiest on the 23rd every year, as well as the last saturday before christmas. this year they're one in the same, so i'm kind of sorry i won't be around to help out… but i'm really glad i'm avoiding the chaos. >D
so, yeah, now you're caught up. :D just a quick note before i go, my secret santa person is going to have a late gift, but most of us are usually late with stuff anyway, right? >D it'll be worth the wait though, since it's handmade. that's right. :D too bad it's taking a while to make. :(
anyway, until next time. x_X which won't be too far off, hopefully. i might blog before we leave on our trip, but i may not. i'll bring along my mom's laptop to my grandparents', so i won't be completely severed from the internet, provided i'm able to steal someone's wireless connection while i'm there. >D
