This layout was made totally by me, but I obviously didn't draw the picture. That'd probably be Yazawa Ai, creator of NANA. Featured in this layout is none other than Osaki Nana herself. The image can be found in the NANA 1st Illustrations art book. The layout was made in Adobe Photoshop 7.0. The font is just Impact, which came with my computer. :P And, of course, this blog is powered by the omnipotent WordPress. <3 It is strongly recommended that you view this page in the latest version of FireFox. I use PNG-24 format, so if the image transparency looks all messed up, it's your own fault. |

Hmmm Mon 30 Jul 2007 @ 2:53:18 am Posted in: Blog |
For some reason I feel obligated to write something. I'm not entirely sure why. Don't mind me if I ramble on for a bit, m'kay? I'm kind of bored and a little wired on Pepsi. I should be in bed. I have work at 7:00 in the morning. :( Anyone free next weekend? I booked Friday through Monday off because I was originally going to go to Vancouver Pride, but that's not exactly happening now. I still have the days booked off because, well, I deserve some freaking time off. I worked almost 43 hours last week. For some reason they gave me Thursday off as well. Anybody? No? DUST… Anybody? No? DUST… My sister and I watched Miss Muffy last night. I probably shouldn't have done that. But she knows I've got her back! :D Haha, I love Miss Muffy. Speaking of my sister, she's on the overnight bus right now en route to southern Alberta to stay with the grandparents for a couple weeks. She's all grown up, travelling alone and all. :( I hope her connection in Calgary goes smoothly. I made some impulse purchases today. I rationalize it by telling myself it's for back-to-school and stuff. Yeah, uh huh. I bought a bunch of stuff from 10percent.com. Need I say more? I think I'm going to enjoy my new bag, though. :) Speaking of queer stuff, I'm watching Queer as Folk again. I watched a bit of the British one, but I couldn't get into it as much as the American one. I kind of see how it's perpetuating homosexual stereotypes, but I'm still enjoying it. I used to watch it from time to time in secret, actually, all ashamed while telling myself it was wrong to even be watching it. Times sure have changed. :) Oh, and since we're on the topic of shame, I've been toying with the idea of getting a tattoo. I told myself I'd never get one, but now I'm not so sure I'll be holding onto that idea forever. I've pretty much decided what I'd get and where. No, I won't be sharing that on here. ;) You'll just have to wait and—if you're VERY, VERY lucky—see. Also, I think I may have become addicted to raspberry Sourpuss. I have a bad feeling about this. |

Freezing… Thu 26 Jul 2007 @ 4:42:37 pm Posted in: Blog |
My Firefox add-on tells me it's 26°C (79°C) and partly sunny. However, my hands are all red and puffy like I just came in from the cold without wearing mittens. Why? My boss's boss came in right when I was about to leave and asked me to pull out frozen stuff (things we order in frozen that we don't bake at the store). We were going to do that earlier, but we didn't have time, so we put it off until tomorrow. Yeah, I can't say no to my boss's boss, after all. -_- He's all like, "I'll help you out if you need it." He never did. He just thanked me. Yeah, uh huh. Thanks for the unwanted overtime and the throbbing, puffy fingers. What would have been a good night for one of our trainees is going to be hell because she's putting that stuff out as we speak, and it's not the easiest task in the world (it all has to be dated according to its shelf life, and there's dozens of different products). And guess who opens tomorrow? Why, yours truly, of course!! -_- I just know I'm going to walk into a disaster zone. If she didn't even sweep the floor, so help me… And I refuse to stay overtime tomorrow because I have plans. Finally getting off my ass and making new friends! (Gasp!) I'm so sick of the routine I've been in the past week. I've been sleep-deprived all day, so I come home from work and take a nap which usually lasts between one and three hours. I wake up and play Audition for a bit, watch something on the computer that I've downloaded (often a Japanese talk show, variety show, or drama), then go to bed and get up absurdly early for work where the cycle just continues. Every liquid I have consumed all day today has had an insane amount of caffeine and sugar in it. I feel kind of sick to my stomach, actually. I need to go to bed early tonight. :( |

New layout! Sat 14 Jul 2007 @ 8:15:52 pm Posted in: Blog |
As some of you figured out while I was uploading/tweaking it, I finally have a new layout for this thing. Yes, another NANA one. Oh well. :D I like it. I'm just beginning to experiment a tiny bit with the whole PNG transparency thing. Just a little. I tested this in IE and it doesn't work at all, lol. Like I care. Firefox is the first and last word with me, so there. I just ate supper, but now I'm hungry again. o_O How strange. You know what else is strange? Everyone has a date for tonight (or is going out tonight) except me. :( Oh wait, that's not strange at all. |

Whoring my blog out to LiveJournal Sat 14 Jul 2007 @ 2:53:39 pm Posted in: Blog |
I've done the unthinkable: all my blog entries will now be cross-posted to LiveJournal. I've always maintained that this blog was for me, and the things I do with it would be entirely self-interested. Not so any longer, apparently. This is all your convenience. In other news, I stopped setting Facebook to import my blog posts. Or excerpts of my blog posts, that is. I figured that would remind people to check my blog, but who am I kidding? Who checks Facebook notes regularly? I certainly don't unless it's in someone's mini-feed when I'm looking at their profile, and stuff. This is good, though, because I'm adding family members to Facebook and don't particularly want them to read this blog. The issue of me password protecting posts came up. I apologize, but there are things I just need to keep private, especially lately. That's all I have to say about that, really. I don't expect anyone reading this to disrespect my privacy, so there really is no issue here. I've set this thing to not allow LJ comments on these posts (so if you see a post that allows comments, that's probably an actual LJ post). This is probably because I have six years of my life in this one SQL database, and that includes people's comments (since I installed b2, that is). It feels so weird to think of it like that, actually. It's not something I expected or planned for. I can't imagine what this'll be like in ten or twenty years. That's why I haven't switched to something like LJ, and that's why I don't want blog comments ending up on LJ. Yeah, that's the best I can describe it. Sorry if it's an inconvenience. So… this is basically a test post to see how the whole LJ thing works. Sorry for not actually saying anything important. |

Goodbye, Miss Deadly Mon 09 Jul 2007 @ 5:33:16 pm Posted in: Blog |
My mom, sister, and I just got back from the vet. We had our cat, Miss Deadly, put down this afternoon. She had been losing a lot of weight recently, and her energy has been really low. Yesterday she became so sluggish that she could barely get up. We didn't think she'd make it through the day, but she did. She hadn't eaten in days. She couldn't even blink her eyes. The only way we could tell if she was still alive was from her belly moving up and down. The vet says her kidneys probably shut down, which means there's nothing we could have done. So we let her go. She went peacefully. She didn't have much left in her, as she had stopped breathing before the doctor was even done injecting her. She gave us a lot of love, and we all cried pretty badly. I love animals, especially my pets, of course. We only had her for three years. I'll miss her very much. |

California/Arizona trip Sun 08 Jul 2007 @ 6:01:25 pm Posted in: Blog |
Alright, I can't not mention the lovely trip I went on, but it seems anti-climactic at this point since most of you know exactly what went on (or were there). Oh well! See Lbeth's blog for more (of the same, mostly). |

CITRUS ALERT Thu 05 Jul 2007 @ 1:53:10 pm Posted in: Blog |
I've decided that I really enjoy airports. I'm writing this from an internet station in Denver, Colorado. I have a four hour layover, so I'm killing time. Well, I'm spending money. $2.21 left. I love the Phoenix airport's intercom voice. It's a computer generated voice (Microsoft Sam, anyone?) and can't pronounce names worth crap. :D It amuses me. This Denver airport is really something, though. It's… way bigger than I expected. I love how they have those flat escalator things, though. Funfun. :D But I'm loving even more how they are announcing over the intercom that the terror alert has been raised to orange and that people should report any suspicious bags they may see. I don't know why it amuses me. It could be Serious Business (are we under attack? o_O) but in my blissful, ignorant world, I laugh in the face of the orange alert. :D I also love playing games with airlines. I'll get into that another time. I'll be home in the evening tonight. I can't promise I'll update everyone on my trip right away, but I'll do my best. I will say that I got plenty of video footage of the mayhem in California, but you'll have to wait for me to properly edit it. ;) Those of you who weren't there have to live vicariously in style, not via wretched home-video-style clips. Well, they'll probably end up turning like that anyway. Except the ManFaye footage. Nothing can make that any less special. ;) Ohh, I have two minutes left at this terminal. Guess I better post this… |
