    This layout was made totally by me, but I obviously didn't draw the picture. That'd probably be Yazawa Ai, creator of NANA. Featured in this layout is none other than Osaki Nana herself. The image can be found in the NANA 1st Illustrations art book. The layout was made in Adobe Photoshop 7.0. The font is just Impact, which came with my computer. :P And, of course, this blog is powered by the omnipotent WordPress. <3 It is strongly recommended that you view this page in the latest version of FireFox. I use PNG-24 format, so if the image transparency looks all messed up, it's your own fault.

    I'm sorry that I haven't really been keeping in touch with everyone as much as I was during the summer. As expected, school's got a hold on me at the moment. I'm still trying to get into a good routine that works for me, so I apologize if I neglect coming onto AIM or blogging. It's funny how I'll just decide not to turn on AIM because I feel like I might not have time to get into long conversations with people. I do check Facebook all the time though, no matter what. I even update my Twitter account somewhat regularly (compared to this blog, that is), so that can be like a mini-blog, right? I know it's kind of cryptic, but it still shows you that I'm alive (unlike LBeth, who I suspect died weeks ago). Feel free to sign up and follow that if you want. I added the Twitter Facebook application, but not all my Twitter updates go through on there for some reason.

    I wanted to blog about school. I am really, really enjoying the UofA. I'm very surprised at how fast I learnt how to get around. I even know the names of most of the buildings, and it's only been a week. I'm already planning ahead for when it's wintertime. I sure as hell am not walking outside if I can help it, so I've discovered shortcuts through buildings. :D I'm smart like that. Besides, tomorrow it's only supposed to be ten degrees. I might have to implement these shortcuts sooner than planned. I hate the fall.

    My classes are quite good. My Evolution Biology class is the one I'm most worried about. There's no lab, and it's in a big lecture theatre. It's not really all that personal of an experience, which I'm used to when it comes to Biology. As long as I stay on top of the material, I should be alright. Hopefully.

    My Botany class sure is something else. I'm not sure what to make of it yet, and we've had several classes. My lab for that is on Thursday, so we'll see how that goes. So far we've talked about seeds and roots. I think next class we even get to talk about stems! Far out!! But there's a lot of terminology, even after just a few lectures. I have to stay on top of that too.

    EDPS (Education Policy Studies) is going to be so easy. The one I'm taking is kind of like a history course, really. How people view childhood throughout history. A book review, a movie review, a presentation of the movie review, a take-home final, and attendance is recorded. Easy! (No midterm!!)

    My EDPY (Educational Psychology) class seems really nice too. The prof is quite good, and she makes the class pretty interactive even though it's in a big lecture theatre as well.

    And finally, Japanese. There is no English spoken at all (unless she asks us if we know the meaning of something). I'm so nervous, but it's good. I'm understanding pretty much everything that's being taught, but I'm still nervous about the class. Every once in a while I won't catch a few vocab words, but my comprehension skills are perfectly fine, so it's no problem. The workload for the course is absolutely unbearable, I must say. I'm going to have to study every day, pretty much, as we don't study the grammar in class (we're expected to know it beforehand so we can use it in class as practise). Next week we have to record introduction videos for this pen-pal thing we're doing with a women's college in Kyoto. Kind of nervous about that. And of course, there are regular vocab and kanji tests, worksheets, compositions, studying/practising the grammar at home. It's going to be a really taxing course. Hmmm, I believe there is an essay at the end. I can't remember. Oh, and a final presentation. So yeah. Fun. A lot of work, but fun.

    After class every day I've been going to the fitness centre. :D I don't want to get buff, but I do want to lose a bit of the fat that I have in undesired places. So it's all cardio for me. Plus I have no upper-body strength, so weights and stuff just aren't my thing. Especially in front of other people…

    So yeah, that's about it. I have a few other things I wanted to blog about, but I'm saving them for another day. I hope everyone's doing well; I know I haven't really been keeping in touch with a lot of you lately. I love you all, my sweetnesses. ;_;
